Finding an appropriate placement should not mean searching through multiple service pages or waiting to establish whether a provider may be able to meet someone’s needs.
For commissioners, brokerage teams, social workers, NHS professionals and other referral partners, the first questions are often practical:
Does the provider offer the type of placement required?
Can they support the individual’s needs?
Is there current availability?
How can a referral be made?
To make those questions easier to answer, we have created the new Oasis Care Referrals & Placements Hub, bringing together placement information, current availability and referral pathways in one place.
Explore Oasis Care’s placement options
The Referrals & Placements Hub brings together information about the different placement pathways available through Oasis Care, helping professionals quickly identify the services most relevant to the person they are supporting.
These include:
Residential care.
Supported accommodation for young people aged 16–18.
Emergency placements.
Unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (UASC) and separated young people.
Hospital step-down care.
Specialist and complex-needs placements.
Professionals can also explore our specialist areas of support where an individual’s circumstances require a more considered approach to placement matching.

Who is the Hub for?
The Hub has been developed for professionals involved in identifying, assessing and arranging care and support placements, including:
Local authority commissioners and brokerage teams.
Social workers and children’s social care teams.
Adult social care teams.
NHS and hospital discharge professionals.
Other professionals involved in referral and placement planning.
Whether you are responding to an immediate placement need or researching potential provision, the Hub provides a starting point for understanding the services Oasis Care offers and whether they may be appropriate for the person you are supporting.
Check current placement availability
We have also introduced a Live Placement Availability page.
Rather than contacting us simply to establish whether a placement may be available, professionals can use this page as a starting point when exploring current placement opportunities across Oasis Care.
Availability alone does not determine whether a placement is suitable. Every referral remains subject to appropriate assessment, consideration of identified risks and placement matching. However, the page does provide a quicker answer to the initial question of whether there is current availability for this type of placement.
Availability can change, so all opportunities remain subject to confirmation through the referral and assessment process.
Understand the referral process
The Hub also provides clearer information about what happens when a referral reaches Oasis Care.
Professionals can see the information we require, understand how referrals are reviewed and access the referral form when they are ready to proceed.
Supporting documentation can be submitted alongside a referral, helping our team develop a clearer understanding of the individual’s circumstances, needs, identified risks and current support requirements from the outset.
The aim is not to automate placement decisions. It is to remove unnecessary friction from the referral process so that better-informed conversations can begin sooner.
Access clearer information before making contact
We have designed the Hub so that professionals can understand our services without needing to contact us first for basic placement information.
Individual placement pages provide more detailed information about:
Who we support.
The type of placement and environment available.
The needs and circumstances for which a service may be appropriate.
Our approach to support.
How to take the next step.
This means social workers, commissioners, brokerage officers and discharge professionals can explore Oasis Care independently before deciding whether to get in touch.
When a conversation does take place, it can begin with a clearer understanding of the individual’s needs, the potential placement and the questions that still need to be explored.
Making the referral journey more efficient, without shortcutting assessment
Finding a vacancy is only one part of identifying an appropriate placement.
The individual’s needs, the environment, identified risks, compatibility, support requirements and longer-term goals all need to be considered.
The Oasis Care Referrals & Placements Hub is designed to make the initial search and referral journey more efficient without shortcutting assessment or placement matching.
By making relevant information easier to access, professionals can make better-informed decisions about whether an Oasis Care service may be suitable before progressing a referral.
That distinction matters.
A quicker route to information should support better placement decisions — not replace the professional judgement and assessment required to make them.
