Oasis Care is pleased to announce the launch of three new Ofsted-registered solo apartments, expanding our supported accommodation offer for young people aged 16+ who require highly personalised, one-to-one environments. This development strengthens our commitment to providing safe, trauma-informed homes for young people who cannot thrive in shared settings.
This new provision sits alongside our shared supported accommodation home, Riverside Court, which is also Ofsted-certified. Together, these services broaden the pathways available to young people and commissioning teams.
Why We Have Expanded Our Solo Provision
Many young people are well supported in shared accommodation; however, others need quieter, more contained environments to feel safe, regulate emotionally and build trust. Solo apartments are often essential when young people have:
experienced exploitation or high risk
struggled with peer dynamics
significant trauma that makes shared living overwhelming
Repeated placement breakdowns
a need for intensive, structured support
Commissioners already understand the strategic value of solo placements, particularly during a time of increased demand and system-wide sufficiency pressures. Our expansion reflects a clear commitment: to offer the right home for the young people who need more than shared accommodation can provide.

What Our New Solo Apartments Offer
Each Ofsted-registered solo apartment provides:
Purpose-designed, individual living spaces. Calm, predictable environments that reduce sensory and emotional overload.
Dedicated staffing. One-to-one support tailored to risk, emotional development and independence goals.
Trauma-informed, relational practice. Consistent adults who help young people feel safe enough to engage, regulate and progress.
Integrated independence planning. Each young person works through a personalised programme covering routines, life skills, budgeting, community safety and future planning.
Access to creative and skills-based development through CEG. Residents can take part in training, creative arts, sound production and other opportunities delivered in partnership with our sister organisation, CEG.
A clear progression pathway. Solo placements offer a structured route for young people stepping down from residential care or those moving toward independent living at a pace that feels safe.
Why This Matters for Young People and Local Authorities
This expansion is designed to respond directly to priorities we hear from commissioners and social workers:
1. Increased placement choice during high demand. Sufficiency challenges continue nationwide. Solo placements provide a regulated, appropriate option where shared settings are unsuitable.
2. Greater stability for young people at risk of breakdown. Tailored, relationship-led support significantly improves placement stability for young people with complex trauma or risk factors.
3. Stronger outcomes and safer transitions. Solo accommodation can be a crucial foundation for engaging with education, therapy, independence work and community integration.
4. Compliance and oversight. All placements operate under the Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023, ensuring quality and accountability.
Our Approach: More Than Accommodation
A solo placement with Oasis Care is not simply a property; it is a highly structured, relational environment underpinned by:
consistent staffing
trauma-informed practice
daily emotional regulation
safeguarding and risk management
personalised independence programmes
access to creative and therapeutic engagement
For many young people, this will be the first setting where they will be taking meaningful steps towards independence. Learn more about Burdett House
