Welcome to Burdett House
Burdett House is a specialist Ofsted-registered supported accommodation service offering solo placements for young people aged 16–18 with complex needs. The service provides self-contained accommodation alongside highly personalised support, creating a calm, safe and structured environment where young people can feel secure and supported.
Designed for those who may find shared living challenging, Burdett House supports young people to build confidence, develop essential life skills and make meaningful progress towards independence at their own pace.
As an Ofsted-registered provision, Burdett House is equipped to work with:
Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) – Young people arriving in the UK without a parent or guardian, often needing support in settling into a new country and navigating their asylum process.
Homeless Youth – Young people at risk of homelessness or those who have experienced homelessness and need supported accommodation to help stabilise their lives.
Youth with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) – Young people who may not be in care but have learning difficulties, disabilities, or neurodiverse conditions like Autism, ASD, or ADHD, who require additional support in semi-independent living.
Young People with Mental Health Needs – Those experiencing mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression, or more complex mental health issues, who may need a supportive environment to maintain stability.
Young People Facing Domestic or Family Challenges – Youth who may not be LAC or care leavers but are at risk due to family breakdowns, domestic violence, or other difficult home situations.

OFSTED Registered, Exceptional Care
Being Ofsted registered means our service is held to high standards of care, safeguarding, and accountability. It provides assurance to professionals, families, and young people themselves that:
-
Our staff are properly trained and supported
-
The environment is safe, consistent, and responsive to individual needs
-
Young people’s voices are central to their care and planning
-
Outcomes and progress are regularly reviewed and inspected
We believe that supported accommodation should offer more than just a place to stay; it should be a foundation for healing, growth, and building a brighter future.

Thinking About Supported Accommodation?
If you’re exploring supported accommodation for your child, you don’t have to face it alone, we’re here to support you every step of the way.
Our blog, “A Safe Place to Start Again: What Supported Accommodation Really Means for Your Family,” offers a gentle and practical look at life in a place like Riverside Court.
Supported accommodation isn’t a residential home, and it isn’t full independence either; it’s a safe, structured, and nurturing step that helps young people build confidence and gradually move towards independence at a pace that feels right for them.
