Supporting Separated Migrant Children
At Oasis Care
We support separated young people, those who arrive in the UK without parents or carers. While statutory guidance often uses the term Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC), we prefer language that recognises dignity first. They are young people before anything else.
We provide environments where healing and belonging come first. Safety is part of this, but equally important is the chance for young people to grow, connect, and look forward with confidence.
We know that belonging cannot be rushed, and that each young person’s journey is unique. That is why we combine stability with opportunity — offering trusted relationships, access to education and skills, and connections with the wider community. By working alongside partner services and listening to the voices of young people themselves, we help create pathways where resilience can flourish and futures can take shape.

Building a Foundation for Stability
Many of the young people we support have endured traumatic journeys, often fleeing violence, trafficking, and appalling living conditions. Upon arrival in the UK, they face the daunting task of adapting to a new culture, learning a new language, and navigating a complex legal system, all while grappling with the loss of family and familiar support structures.
At Oasis Care, we understand these challenges and work to create a stable, safe environment where UASC can begin to heal and rebuild their lives.
From Arrival to Stability
The first days and weeks matter most. Many young people arrive carrying trauma, grief, and uncertainty.
At Oasis Care, we create stability by:
-
Providing a warm welcome and essentials pack so they know they are expected.
-
Introducing a key worker from day one to build trust and explain routines.
-
Embedding trauma-informed practice across our whole team.
This stability lays the foundation for belonging.

With a focus on healing and personal growth, our nurturing environment fosters resilience, helping each young person adapt to new surroundings and develop a sense of belonging.
We work in partnership with a wide network of services, from health and education to legal and community organisations, ensuring young people are not left to navigate complex systems alone.
Our staff team is diverse, culturally aware, and trauma-informed, committed to providing care that recognises each young person’s unique needs and supports them to thrive.

A Positive Path Forward

At Oasis Care, we are committed to helping separated young people build hopeful and purposeful futures. Through personalised care plans, therapeutic support, and close collaboration with partner services, we create a strong foundation for each young person to grow and thrive.
For some, this means preparing for adulthood and the responsibilities that come with it. For others, it is about continuing education, developing new skills, or building friendships and support networks in the community.
Whatever the pathway, we walk alongside young people — offering stability, encouragement, and opportunities so they can move forward with confidence and belonging.
